Baby Andrew is Here!

The Plant Shoppe is pleased to announce the newest member of the Gardner Family:

Andrew Joseph

He was born at 4:33am this morning (May 17), 7lbs, 12 oz, 20 inch. Momma and Baby are doing well. Congratulations to Betsy, Terry and Big Sister Abbey! Yay!!!

Playing Dress Up

What to do with two, 6 yr olds, when they come to the shoppe before a play date? Dress them up in wedding dresses of course. Abbey and Maddy got to try on the dresses one day over the summer. If I could catch all the giggles and market them, they were so silly.
The last pic is to cute, as the top fell off Abbey, and she now has a Hello Kitty Wedding dress.

Blogging?????

We have had an incredible summer and somehow I have not kept up the blogging. Between the weddings, parties, and invitations we have created there has not been much time to blog. That and having Abbey at work with me for three straight weeks didn't help much. I will try to do better, so in no particular order I hope you enjoy the upcoming posts.
Abbey is holding a bouquet she made, while I was working on flowers for the Gainesville Wedding Expo. It was a hand tied bouquet of hydrangea, carnations & statice. She sprayed the hydrangea fuchsia.

Abbey's Second Gator Game

Terry was able to get some tickets to The Gator game against FIU this past weekend. We closed up shoppe early and went as a family.

Abbey's Halloween

We turned a one day holiday, into a 2 week event. A visit to a corn maze, 2 Halloween carnivals, visit to pumpkin patch(es), a pumpkin carving party and trick-or-treating. Here are some of the highlights of Abbey's Halloween activities. Abbey and "her girls" at one of the pumpkin patches.

Carving Pumpkins at Shelby's house. This year she picked Minnie Mouse, and I picked daddy to help her, since I carved it last year. She actually cleaned out most of the pumpkin herself. She wanted us to keep the seeds to grown a pumpkin. Needless to say they were roasted, and we will buy some seeds to plant.

Then for Halloween, she decided to be Strawberry Shortcake for the second year in a row. (Thanks to daddy grandma for making the costume last year.)

It was fun, but I am glad it is over.

Our Little Monkey

Here is Abbey for her 2nd Halloween, about 15 months old. You can almost hear her say OOH, OOH, AAAH, AHHH. She had been our little monkey ever since.

KB Kake Truffles

During a recent wedding delivery Kathy at KB Kakes offered us some of the famous Kake Truffles to try. What a great package, just the right size for 2 large truffles & a mini for Abbey to try.

Abbey couldn't wait to try hers. I told her we had to at least wait until she got in the car.

Yummy is all I can say. What a great treat and wonderful end of a busy day delivering wedding flowers. Thanks Kathy.

Abbey Update, 1st Day of school

So, Abbey told me at lunch yesterday, that she was going to sleep when the sun set. Well she didn't quite make it. When I picked her up, I had a flower delivery to make. She told me she was hungry, so we called Terry and she asked him to make crunchy pizza (Stouffer's) for dinner. Well he did, but she never ate it. She feel asleep in the way home, and would not wake up for more than a second. Other than crawling into bed with me, she slept the whole night. Here she is, in car seat, with her blankie, which was not taken to to school.

Abbey's First day at JJ Finley

We woke up early this morning to get Abbey to her first day of Kindergarten at JJ Finley. None of us were happy campers about getting up that early. She had to be at school by 7:45. We usually aren't even awake at that time. Here are a few shots of her.
This was at meet the teacher on Friday, on the way into school.

Here she is with Mrs. Grote her teacher. We found out that she already know 4 other kids in her class. Can you believe it.

"Okay mom, I'm coloring here." in other words, you are dismissed.

I will admit, I got a little teary eyed, even though Terry claims I was balling my eyes out. I had a chance to go in at lunch time today to say hi. We just happened to have a plant to deliver to a teacher for her first day at school, and I volunteered to deliver it. She was so tired this morning, she said she was going to sleep when the sun was setting. I only wish she would go to sleep that early.

Alyssa's Birthday

Abbey's friend Alyssa turned 5 at the beginning of the month. After gymnastics class Alyssa took us & Alison out to Chick-fil-a for dinner. While there the girls meet superheros and got to have their pictures taken.

With all this sass, think about what we will be dealing with when they are 16.

All Grown up....

...at least she thinks she is. Today is Abbey's 5th Birthday, and oh is she sassy.
Friday night we went to dinner and Abbey insisted on paying for her own dinner. She asked the waitress for her own bill. When it was time to pay she spent the $10 Aunt Bobbie gave her for her birthday last year. She had been holding on to this $10 bill for a whole year. When the change was brought back to her she gave the waitress a dollar tip, plus a handful of change out of her purse. How funny is she. Today she is telling everyone that it is her real birthday, because yesterday (the day of her party) was her fake birthday.

Eavan & Abbey

Eavan spent the night this past weekend. Saturday night they went down to the Duck pond at NFR. Here is how they dressed to feed the ducks. Notice that Rascal had to join in the pic.

Abbey's First Recital

Abbey participated in her first dance Recital last weekend. She did ballet as well as a cheer leading routine. Here she is in her fancy costumes:
