Olivia and John: A July Wedding

Olivia and John were married on July 2, 2011 at The Thomas Center. Our friend Jaime, at Sweet Serendipity Photography captured the day perfectly (as usual!). Below are some pictures from their big and some of our behind the scenes photos too.

Olivia's bouquet was made up of hand-tied ivory and yellow roses. I love that you can see The Thomas Center in the background of this photo, so beautiful!

For their outside ceremony, The Plant Shoppe provided a fabric accent to help frame the ceremony location. We also provided two larger arrangements, which were later moved inside for the reception. Chair markers were used on each row and were made up of a black ribbon and accented with yellow flowers.

For their reception, Olivia and John had centerpieces made up of cylinder vases with arrangements on top accented with hanging crystals. I love that there were also flowers inside the vases as well!

And finally, one last picture by Sweet Serendipity.

Congratulations Olivia and John! Thank you for letting The Plant Shoppe be a part of your big day. We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!

Kelly and Michael, Part Two

Kelly and Michael's fall ceremony and reception at the Thomas Center featured great details that accented their beautiful theme for their October 30 ceremony.

First, the bride's bouquet:

Kelly's bouquet was made up of hand tied bouquet of persimmon, orange and burgundy roses, hypericum, accented curly willow.

Next, the flower girls...

Kelly's two flower girls walked down the aisle with a silk flower wand accented with ribbons. The flower girls also wore gorgeous wings which we provided coordinating ribbon accents and flowers.

Of course, you can't forget the ringbearer and his ride...

Since he was a baby, he rode down the aisle in the wagon! This is a great way to incorporate little ones into the wedding party who might not be at the walking age yet.

Finally, the cake!

Kelly and Michael's had a three tiered cake from Publix. We added flowers as a topper with a few accents on the side.

Congratulations Kelly and Michael! We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!

Kelly and Michael, Part One

On October 30, Kelly and Michael were married at the beautiful, historic Thomas Center in Gainesville. They had some really creative ideas incorporated into their gorgeous fall ceremony, so I'm going to break up their special day into two parts, the decor and the details.

Today's post focuses on the decor.

First, for their ceremony, they had Sheppard's hooks to lead the way to the ceremony location. The markers were made up of a beautiful ribbon with an orange daisies & roses.

Next, for their guest tables, gerberas were also used and accented by a floating willow. Fall leaves were also included in the centerpieces.

Finally, the couple had a Wishing Tree! The tree was located outside and was made up of a curly willow tree for guests to hang their wishes on (paper leaves). I absolutely love it, don't you?!? The picture below shows a few leaves on the tree and a guest hanging their leaf.

Check back tomorrow for more of Kelly and Michael's fall wedding including the bride's bouquet (my favorite), cake pictures and more!! :)

Fantastic Fall Wedding Flowers

Meghan & Alex were married at the fabulous Thomas Center. Their ceremony was in the Turtle court and reception in The Spanish Court. Chef's Brothers provided the food and Publix the cake. Here is Meghan & Lincoln hanging out before the ceremony. Her bouquet was made of roses, solidago, billy balls, alstromeria, hypericum & carnations.
Her bridesmaids carried similar bouquets, which are featured below.
In The Turtle Court we decorated the light sconces as well as the ledge in front of were the ceremony was held. By having the arrangements low, they are not in the way of the guests watching the ceremony. The arrangements were later used inside during the reception.Meghan's Mother sent me a lovely email:
Betsy,
The flowers for Meghan’s wedding were just beautiful! We were so pleased. Thank you for everything, including helping put on the corsages and boutonnières.
Amy Lacy
Thanks for having up be part of their special day.

Caroline & Charles

Angela at A'vie called to ask a huge favor......."We have a bride, who is getting married next week and needs a florist, can you help?" I said sure, floral miracles are our specialty. So, after talking with Caroline, who lives in Chicago, I can up with a floral game plan. I called Larry our flower guy and set the plan into action. I wouldn't meet Caroline, until 6 days before her wedding, so I had some guess work to do to figure out the perfect flowers for her wedding to Charles. Here is what we came up with. The bride's bouquet of roses, mini call lily, freesia, & hypericum.
Here is Caroline with all her lovely ladies in front of one of the cottages at Sweetwater Branch Inn, where they got ready for the ceremony.
Angela had her hands full with just a few of the bouquets, just before the ceremony.
A close up of the altar arrangements...roses, carnations, spray roses & hydrangea.
Here are some of the centerpieces waiting for Erin at Celebrations & Amy from A'vie to prepare The Thomas Center for the reception.
The Spanish court decked out with linens & chairs from Celebrations.
A wonderful cake from KB Kakes was the highlight of the room.
And of course my assistant patiently waiting for us to go home.
From what I have heard, Caroline was very please with her flowers, she has even asked me to be her friend on Facebook. Thanks for the opportunity.

Kristin & Taylor Part: 3

Reception details:
For the cocktail tables we used square vases, with roses, fuji mums & curly willow.
To add a little teal to the reception, we used led lights in the bottom of the vases. Some overall views of the Spanish Court. Notice the fabric hanging. Once again Susan's idea, but up to me to figure out how to hang it.
A gorgeous cake from Kathy at KB Kake Kreations.
This wedding was truly a labor of love and worth every minute of it.

Kristin & Taylor Part: 2

Here are some of the details from their wedding....
We lined the aisle with kissing balls made of carnations, button mums, ivy, wax flower & green amaranthus. After the ceremony the kissing balls were moved to the outside cocktail area.

Here is a close up:The ceremony was held outside under the oak tree at The Thomas Center. Susan had a vision to hang fabric from the tree.....guess who got to do the hanging and climb in the tree....yeah me, with a little help from one of the wedding guests. The fluid movement of the fabric was an incredible back drop.

Kristin & Taylor: Part I

I had the honor of providing flowers for Kristin & Taylor's wedding in March of this year. This wedding was special to me for many reasons....Kristin is the daughter of my friends Susan & Stewart.......Taylor was one of the photographers at my wedding.....and I was given creative license. We based everything off Kristin's personality and the dress that Kristin had created. What colors go with Teal? Well in this case burgundy & lime green. I know it sounds odd. Many people looked at me funny when I would describe it, but I think it truly turn out wonderful.
Kristin's bouquet was made of roses, spray roses, green amaranthus, wine Calla lily, James Storey orchids, kangaroo paws & some beading.

Lelsie & Dave

What a gorgeous day Sunday turned out to be. Not too cold, not too hot, with just the right amount of sun. I feel very lucky to take part in their wedding as a vendor and a friend. It was nice to be able to be the first one at The Thomas Center (to deliver flowers), and one of the last to leave at the end of the night.
Here is Leslie & Tristan taking a break in between photos.
The altar arrangements were done all-around, so that they could later be used on the buffet tables.Leslie & Dave decided to see each other before the ceremony. They had private time, at The Thomas Center, where they were able to see each other for the first time. This frees up time after the ceremony to spend more time with their guests. Here is Susan Powers, directing one of the many shots taken before the ceremony.

Here is Stewart waiting to catch the perfect shot. Some couples start with a theme, and other slowly develop a theme as they begin planning. In addition to their love for each other and for Tristan & Nathan, Leslie & Dave share a love for antique cars (they own 3). This one was the basis of their color theme. The Circus roses are the perfect color.

Rachel & Jason

Sage, Black & Ivory were the colors Rachel picked for her wedding to Jason this past Saturday. Leah at Celebrations Catering & I help her pick hot pink as an accent, a little punch of color. Rachel wanted a small cascade for her bouquet. Her bouquet was made of roses, spray roses, trachelium, hypericum, plumosa fern & sinesis. A few pearls were added to accent the flowers.
Her maid of honor's bouquet was hand tied, of roses, hypericum & sinenis.
Rachel picked out the cutest topper, one of which I had never seen before. I added a few flowers, including cymbidium orchids, dendrobium orchids, spray roses, & trachelium.
The guest tables had pictures of the happy couple as they were growing up. A vase, with black rocks and dendrobium orchids were added to the tables for a punch of color.
