Celebrations Custom Catering

One of our neighbors is Celebrations Custom Catering. We have been fortunate to work with them many times during the year. I am always thrilled to see all the amazing items they show up with, at different events we do together, and I am not just talking about their amazing food.
They have many different linens and items which they use to enhance their food displays & your venue. But where do they store it all? Recently I was given the opportunity to take a sneak peak at their storage facility. I thought I'd share with you some of what I found. You might recognize the pink linens as the ones we borrowed for the September wedding shows.

Here are just some of the shelves they have full of display items.

I am always excited to see what they show up with at the next event.

Bridal Expo

Here are some shots of our booth this weekend at the Bridal Expo. Many thanks to Celebrations Catering for the lovely pink linens used on our tables. Everyone loved our cheery showing of pinks & greens.
A close up of the flowers at the top of our double vases. We used roses, orchids, trachelium, equisitium, buplerium, mini green hydrangea & aspidistra leaves.
Leah from Celebrations Catering caught me making a few adjustments to the flowers.
Theresa made this bouquet which was later used during the fashion show. A nice combination of roses, buplerium & salal leaves.
Here is a close up of mini green hydrangea, with pink roses, a crowd favorite. Laying on the table close by is the gerbera daisy handout we made.
Thank you all for such a great show.

Caroline & Charles

Angela at A'vie called to ask a huge favor......."We have a bride, who is getting married next week and needs a florist, can you help?" I said sure, floral miracles are our specialty. So, after talking with Caroline, who lives in Chicago, I can up with a floral game plan. I called Larry our flower guy and set the plan into action. I wouldn't meet Caroline, until 6 days before her wedding, so I had some guess work to do to figure out the perfect flowers for her wedding to Charles. Here is what we came up with. The bride's bouquet of roses, mini call lily, freesia, & hypericum.
Here is Caroline with all her lovely ladies in front of one of the cottages at Sweetwater Branch Inn, where they got ready for the ceremony.
Angela had her hands full with just a few of the bouquets, just before the ceremony.
A close up of the altar arrangements...roses, carnations, spray roses & hydrangea.
Here are some of the centerpieces waiting for Erin at Celebrations & Amy from A'vie to prepare The Thomas Center for the reception.
The Spanish court decked out with linens & chairs from Celebrations.
A wonderful cake from KB Kakes was the highlight of the room.
And of course my assistant patiently waiting for us to go home.
From what I have heard, Caroline was very please with her flowers, she has even asked me to be her friend on Facebook. Thanks for the opportunity.

Jessica & Wes

We had the pleasure of providing the personal flowers for Jessica & Wes for their Saturday wedding. Coral & Ivory were the colors of the day. We coordinated with The Flower Shop on the flower types, as they were doing the ceremony/reception flowers.
Jessica's bouquet was coral roses, with stephanotis, and the bridesmaids were ivory roses, with stephanotis which were airbrushed coral. Here they are with the toss bouquet, waiting to be delivered.
Here is Brenda Rainsberger, helping me put the finishing touches on the cake. Here are a few photos "borrowed" from Leah at Celebrations over at her blog Catering Crumbs.
Thank you for the opportunity to be part of your special day. I can't wait to see the pictures from Michelle.

50 YEARS & Counting

The Carlson's celebrated their 50th Anniversary at Plantation Hall in Haile Plantation over the weekend. Ms. Debbie provided the cake and the music was provided by Eric Redmond on the piano. A'vie suggested that their daughter Terri contact us about the flowers. When we spoke she liked some of the items she had seen on our blog. So, we created garden inspired flowers in cream, green, pink & red. We provided two different styles. We used Hypericum, stock, hydrangea, cushion mums, spray roses, roses, alstromeria, mini green hydrangea, bells of ireland and assorted greenery. The sign in table featured a picture of the bride on her wedding day.The bar got a gorgeous arrangement, made of larkspur, hydrangea, bells of Ireland, alstromeria, spray roses & assorted greenery. Here is Erin from Celebrations Catering handling some last minute details.A few days before the party, we got a call from some of their friends who were not able to attend the party, so Theresa created this gold, cream & green arrangement to deliver to their home.Best Wishes for many more years of wedded bliss.

Rachel & Jason

Sage, Black & Ivory were the colors Rachel picked for her wedding to Jason this past Saturday. Leah at Celebrations Catering & I help her pick hot pink as an accent, a little punch of color. Rachel wanted a small cascade for her bouquet. Her bouquet was made of roses, spray roses, trachelium, hypericum, plumosa fern & sinesis. A few pearls were added to accent the flowers.
Her maid of honor's bouquet was hand tied, of roses, hypericum & sinenis.
Rachel picked out the cutest topper, one of which I had never seen before. I added a few flowers, including cymbidium orchids, dendrobium orchids, spray roses, & trachelium.
The guest tables had pictures of the happy couple as they were growing up. A vase, with black rocks and dendrobium orchids were added to the tables for a punch of color.

Armida & Eric

Armida & Eric choose a chili, but gorgeous January day for their wedding at The Baughman Center. Periwinkle blue, silver & white were the colors of the day. As there aren't many (read as...any) true periwinkle blue flowers, we used white flowers, and Celebrations Catering provided periwinkle linens. Here is a view of their sweetheart table, with a low & linear piece. We used Hydrangea, Roses, Dendrobium Orchids, Ginestra, and a touch of blue Delphinium.
For the coffee table we provided a tall arrangement, which featured Bells of Ireland, Roses, Stock, Dendrobium Orchids, Hydrangea, and silver ting-ting. Ting-ting is curly sticks, which are found in many colors, and covered in glitter.
On the food tables we placed large glass cylinders with Dendrobium Orchids and ting-ting.

41st Gainesville Wedding Expo

I wanted to thank Leah at Celebrations Catering for this picture of our booth at The 41st Gainesville Wedding Expo, January 11th, put on by Jay's Bridal & Special Occasions. I took my camera, but forgot to take any pictures of the arrangements I created. Thanks, Leah. I chose Green, Fuchsia & Burgundy as my colors. Next to me is a picture screen that we rent for events. It hold 4 - 8 X 10 photos, that looks great with engagement, family wedding pictures, or memorial pictures.

Celebrations Catering Opens a New Restaurant!

Leah at Celebrations invited us over to the Grand Opening of Cafe C on Friday the 14. Since they are pretty much across the street from us (424 NW 8th Avenue), we said yes we would love to attend. I thought it would be nice to send over a little something to add to their festivities. Thinking about the green bubbles that Celebrations has on their deliver vehicles, I called Larry - my flower guy, and ordered some Billy Balls. Billy balls are yellow ball flowers, on a stem. When the flowers got here, I still hadn't decided how I would use them. Then inspiration struck, thinking about the colors that they use in the new building, I decided to spray the billy balls assorted colors of purple, red, & hot pink. Here is what I came up with.

I knew I had made the right decision, when I walked out of the shop to deliver the arrangement, and I looked over toward Cafe C to see colorful paper lanterns & linens hanging up under the tent in the back parking lot. It was as if I was a Fly on the wall when Leah was making her decorating plans for the grand opening.

Thank you for inviting us. The atmosphere was great, and the food was even better. I just wish I hadn't needed to go to the Gym after, and could have eaten more. I loved the door prizes. They placed a sticker on the bottom of some of the dishes served. If you got a dot you could turn your plate in for a prize. I won a Cafe C T-shirt and lunch for 2. I am very excited about both.
