Whitney and Kevin: Part II

As mentioned in the first post, one of my favorite things at my Sweetwater Branch Inn wedding was my flowers--from my bouquet to the centerpieces, I loved them all!

The ceremony was held at the gazebo outside, with two larger arrangements made up of a mix of yellow, blue and white flowers placed on the columns. These arrangements were later moved to the buffet and harvest tables. I love that we were able to use the same pieces for both the ceremony and reception!



My husband and I really wanted to incorporate a sand ceremony into our ceremony program. However, I wasn't exactly sure where to even purchase colored sand or the container that we would pour the sand in. The Plant Shoppe once again came to the rescue! Betsy was even able to order yellow and blue sand, which went perfect with our colors.



In case you were wondering exactly how much I loved my bouquet, this picture with our officiant, Chad Reed, sums it up perfectly.

Finally, here's a picture of two of our favorite guests at the wedding.

Whitney and Kevin Part I

If you've been reading The Plant Shoppe's blog for a while, you might know that it's not always Betsy who is posting...it's one of her former brides! Well... actually a former bride as of two months ago. My husband, Kevin and I were married on June 11 at Sweetwater Branch Inn... and if I had to pick my absolute favorite thing about the day... at the tip top of my list would be my flowers.

When I had my first consultation with Betsy, I told her a few things about me... I wanted a Southern wedding and my dream centerpieces had something to do with mason jars and hydrangeas. For almost a year, I went back and forth changing my mind, until finally I said, work your magic, do whatever, and if it could be in a blue mason jar, I would be in heaven. Betsy took my vision and made it come true--I burst into tears of joy when she brought me my bouquet!

I hope you will enjoy a few pictures from my big day... and since my wedding had lots of things from The Plant Shoppe (flowers, sand ceremony items, invitations and place cards), I've made it into two parts.

Katie and Michael, Part II

Hello and happy Friday! As a follow up to yesterday's post, we wanted to show you some of Jimmy Ho's photos from the event. You can see more of Katie and Michael's wedding on Jimmy's blog by clicking here.

Katie's bouquet was made up of beautiful mini purple calla lilies that were hand tied with fabric from her dress.

Katie's bridesmaids had a similar look, except they carried bouquets of white mini callas. You can also see Michael's boutonniere, which was a purple calla lily, while his groomsmen wore white ones.

Katie and Michael: Part I

Katie and Michael were married back in February at Queen of Peace Catholic Church and had their ceremony at Sweetwater Branch Inn. This first post is going to showcase their reception decor.

The centerpieces at the event were made up of six white milk glasses vases, filled with a mix of purple flowers. Below is an example of two different tables.


Up next, on the appetizer table for their cocktail hour, we have a beautiful arrangement with curly willow accented with some purple orchids.



And finally, I love this picture of the guest book table. Not only can you really see the white vases and flowers, but you also can see a sneak peek of the gardens at Sweetwater - so beautiful!

Ana and Chris: A February Wedding

Ana and Chris were married on February 19, 2011 at Sweetwater Branch Inn. Our friends at Platinum Digital Video did a blog post about their wedding a few weeks ago. Lisa and John: A March Wedding

Lisa and John were married at The Baughman Center on March 5, 2011. They had a beautiful reception at Sweetwater Branch Inn. Their colors, teal and lime green, were accented with beautiful hydrangeas, tulips, and green hypericum. Check out a few pictures below:

Joanna & Tim, part 2

Since Joanna had gone to school at The University of Florida, she had decided to get get married in Gainesville. Joanna & her mom made a quick trip to Gainesville a few months ago to start the planning, but most of the details were finalized over the Internet. She had ideas, but left most of the details up to the vendors she had selected. Here is her reaction when she first arrived at the reception hall. (She almost cried.)

A few of her fun details.....

Cute Orange shoes.A blue finger nail, yes GATOR pride, but more importantly to cover a black thumb nail. She had slammed the car door on her finger while visiting K-Gallery (now Verve).For a guest book she left out scrapbook materials for everyone to get creative.

For favors she made Mama's Chocolate sauce. YUMMY...Abbey has enjoyed it by dipping in a Jello Pudding Pop. Joanna said she felt like she had made so many new friends in Gainesville and wished she still lived here. She even stopped by on Monday to once again say thanks, and to buy some super cool "Just Married" magnets she had seen at the shoppe.

Joanna & Tim

We had a super fun wedding this past weekend. The bride & groom came down from Massachusetts for their ceremony at The Baughman Center & reception at Sweetwater Branch Inn. After my only meeting with Joanna and her mom, I knew we were going to have some fun. One of the first things they told me, is that they wanted to use beer for the centerpieces. A fun bonus of putting the bottles inside vases full of water, was the magnification of the labels. Shades of orange & brown were colors of the day. To add orange to the reception we (I mean Terry) hung orange lanterns both inside & outside at Sweetwater.
I caught Jenny Wagner from Cakes by Jenny setting up the cake.
The stars on the cake & the paper lantern stars are appropriate, as the bride is an astronomer. More to come tomorrow.

Jessica & Andrew

This past weekend Jessica & Andrew were wed at Sweetwater Branch Inn, in front of the Gazebo. Here are some of their highlights. The gorgeous Gazebo.

Caroline & Charles

Angela at A'vie called to ask a huge favor......."We have a bride, who is getting married next week and needs a florist, can you help?" I said sure, floral miracles are our specialty. So, after talking with Caroline, who lives in Chicago, I can up with a floral game plan. I called Larry our flower guy and set the plan into action. I wouldn't meet Caroline, until 6 days before her wedding, so I had some guess work to do to figure out the perfect flowers for her wedding to Charles. Here is what we came up with. The bride's bouquet of roses, mini call lily, freesia, & hypericum.
