Whitney and Kevin: Part II
As mentioned in the first post, one of my favorite things at my Sweetwater Branch Inn wedding was my flowers--from my bouquet to the centerpieces, I loved them all!
The ceremony was held at the gazebo outside, with two larger arrangements made up of a mix of yellow, blue and white flowers placed on the columns. These arrangements were later moved to the buffet and harvest tables. I love that we were able to use the same pieces for both the ceremony and reception!

My husband and I really wanted to incorporate a sand ceremony into our ceremony program. However, I wasn't exactly sure where to even purchase colored sand or the container that we would pour the sand in. The Plant Shoppe once again came to the rescue! Betsy was even able to order yellow and blue sand, which went perfect with our colors.
In case you were wondering exactly how much I loved my bouquet, this picture with our officiant, Chad Reed, sums it up perfectly.
Check back soon, there's lots more wedding updates to come! :) As you can tell, it was a busy summer at The Plant Shoppe!

Sarah and Chris: An April Wedding
Sarah and Chris tied the knot on April 3, 2011 at Haile Plantation Golf and Country Club. Jaime at Sweet Serendipity Photography was kind enough to share with us some pictures from the big day.
Here's a shot of the fabulous bride and her bridesmaids with their hand-tied bouquets of yellow tulips.
Check out some of the ceremony decor that we were able to provide. The above arbor is available for rent for any occasion and the best part is after your ceremony, the flowers at the top can be moved inside to serve as reception decor! It definitely makes a great backdrop for any event!

And, finally, take a look at their beautiful cake by KB's Kake Kreations. Now that looks yummy!
Thank you Sarah and Chris for letting us be a part of your big day! We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!!

A Bouquet Fit For a Future Queen
It's no secret that the fairytale wedding happened last Friday. While I was very excited to see the dress... which turned out to be everything I was hoping, there was something else I was interested in. You guessed it, the bouquet.

Each one of her flowers had a beautiful symbolic representation. The bouquet was made up of lily of the valley, Sweet William flowers, hyacinths, ivy and myrtle. Lily of the valley represents the return of happiness, while Sweet Williams represent gallantry. Hyacinths symbolize consistency of love and ivy stands for fidelity, marriage, friendship and affection. Finally, the most symbolic for Royals was the myrtle. The specific myrtle in her bouquet was from the same bush that Queen Victoria planted in 1845. Queen Elizabeth even used it in her bouquet in 1947! Now that's some symbolic and classy history! Did Princess Catherine start a trend in wedding bouquets for the next few months? Only time will tell...

Do You See What I See?: Advice For Brides
Are you a bride-to-be or a future bride to be? Or maybe even a new mom getting ready to decorate a baby's room and you need the perfect color combination? Either situation you have probably have had an experience like the one below:
You pick out the perfect color combination... maybe it's a sunflower and sky blue. Or maybe it is periwinkle and honeydew... and then this happens... you try and explain it to a man. They look at you clueless... they have no clue what you are talking about... and their next question is probably something along the lines of what about just yellow and blue or pink and purple?
That's where this awesome chart comes in....

This little chart says it all. The woman on the left sees so many different and interesting colors in the color scheme... however, the man sees the the colors of the rainbow... blue, yellow, green. That's it.
So brides, our advice... keep this in mind when dealing with your groom, hubby, or favorite man in your life. They can't help themselves... they just don't see it.

Erin and Luke, Part II
Okay, so we are a bit behind in the blogging world... but, that's because we have so many exciting things going on around the shop! After all, we have Easter, Mother's Day, Administrative Professional's Day all coming up....and of course weddings.
As you might remember, Erin and Luke were married March 19. This Part II in of their wedding, starting off with an awesome cake by Ms. Debbie!
That's right folks, this is a WATERMELON cake! How creative! We were able to add hydrangea accents to the cake, but just looking at this makes me hungry!
Up next is a peek at the groom's boutonniere, which is mainly made of cotton.

And finally, another one of our favorites, Erin's wedding favors: a variety of homemade jams in mason jars. Erin and Luke's engagement pictures are also on the tag of the jars!

Congratulations Erin and Luke and thank you for letting The Plant Shoppe be a part of your special day! We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!

Erin and Luke: Part I
Erin and Luke were married on March 19, 2011 at their private home in Newberry, Florida. We were so excited to not only provide bouquets, boutonnieres and table centerpieces, but also outdoor floral accents on her cake, wreaths, and chairmarkers!!
Below is a picture of the bride and bridesmaid bouquets before leaving shop. The bouquets are made up made up of roses and hydrangeas. Yes, that's real cotton in those bouquets! The bouquets are also hand-tied with burlap.

The guestbook table contained arrangements made up of half gallon mason jars filled with a mix of coral and yellow flowers. Erin made the guest book table banner, which is made out of burlap triangles.

Laura & LaMonte - Preview
Laura & LaMonte are getting married tomorrow. I couldn't resist putting up some images of their flowers. Here are some of the flowers, before we have started working with them. Their colors are burnt orange, ivory, champagne & gold.
Here are her Mango mini calla lily, and orange Mokara orchids.
For some of her centerpieces we are using our large cylinders, with Mokara orchids, curly willow & brown stones.
