Wendy & Keith, Aulander, NC

Some of you might look and see Aulander, NC and say, I thought you were in Gainesville, FL. Well we do travel, but we didn't physically travel for this event. I got this message from Wendy on Facebook:
I'm a new fan. :) I just wanted to say hello. I stumbled across your blog a few months ago, and visited it often. I really like your work, and it was through your blog I was able to decide on what I wanted for my wedding back in October! So, thank you! (I'm in KY, and got married in NC)
How cool is that? I asked her to share her specifics, and here is what she had to say:
The florist is Clay Rawls at Added Touch Florist in Ahoskie, NC. We are Wendy & Keith Fox, married October 3, 2009 at Connaritsa Baptist Church in Aulander, NC.
I asked her to share a few pictures and here they are. This first one was done for her bridal portraits. The bouquet was made of silk flowers, and was made before she decided what she wanted her flowers to look like.
Here are is Wendy & Keith on their wedding day.
Here is a closeup of her bouquet. I would say Clay did a great job, it does look like something I would have made for them.
Best wishes to Wendy & Keith as they start out a wonderful life together. Glad I was able to add a little inspiration to your wedding day.

Heather & Timothy

Heather & Timothy were wed this past weekend at The Baughman Center. Hot pink & ivory were the colors of the day. Heather Wanted to use calla lilies, but with a little twist. We airbrushed the calla lilies with a hot pink. Below are the bridesmaids & bridal bouquets. Heather carried a mix of hydrangea, gerbera daisy, roses & alstromeria.
Here are the handsome men in her bridal party. Notice the gray skies in the background. They do say, rainy wedding day leads to a prosperous marriage.
Here are the lovely place settings that awaited guests at The Rustic Manor for the reception.
This is the best that the stage at Rustic Manor has ever looked. What a great job decorating.
We accented the cake with a little ivory & hot pink.

Breaking Up Flowers

Could this be a new trend in the floral industry? We just had a gentleman come to buy breaking-up flowers (nice ones, not dead ones). To top it off, he picked out a congratulations card to put with the flowers. Now, we know he won't be a repeat customer, but hopefully he will be back when he gets a new love in his life.

Carnations: January Flower of the Month

Carnations are a hardy multi petal single flower, supported by a long stem, they can have a delicate fragrance. They come in a wide range of colors: pink, white, red, yellow, orange, green & purple. Carnations can be found year round. Many times given a bad wrap for being "cheap", however they are very long lasting and can add a great texture to arrangements.
