Gingerbread House

Debbie called from Danbury, CT & asked us to make a Christmas Tree arrangement to send to her sister & brother-in-law. Her sister wasn't going to set up a tree this year, so Debbie thought she would send her one. Debbie thought something with a gingerbread theme. We used a gingerbread house container, mini ornaments, candy, ribbon & some felt gingerbread flowers.
How cute & yummy is this?

Extreme Makeover Home Edition - Delivery Day

Monday was the day. We all got to work early to do finishing touches on our arrangements, so that we would be ready for our 10 am delivery time. (We still can't show you want we made. We have to wait until the show airs.) We got to drive right on up to the house, and had volunteers help us unload everything.
Here is the front of the house, with just a few finishing touches left to do.
Eduardo was super nice and posed with us for pictures. His rooms were the most complete, and we helped him set out arrangements & plants.

We left before the reveal, but we got a feel for the excitement of the time crunch before the Wagstaff family came home.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition-Design Meeting

We arrived at the site, and sent to the VIP tent, which was decorated by Keith Watson Productions. While waiting we ran into one of my 2007 Brides, Alison. Alison, pregnant with twins was there the volunteer, and will be there a few more times. We eventually made our way over to the design production trailer, where we meet Lisa Marie, Corey, Eva & designer Eduardo Xol.
The meeting was fast & furious.....we were shown the room designs, themes & colors. It was a lot to take in, in just a few moments. I asked to go over everything one more time. As we walked away from the trailer I asked.......
What have I gotten myself into?????
That is the question I seem to ask myself alot lately. It was a little overwhelming for Theresa & I. Usually after meeting a bride & discussing wedding flowers, I mull over the notes for a few days & then come up with ideas. Well in this case I only had hours to come up with ideas and flower choices. I turned in my flower order around midnight last night, and today I am going to collect vases and get everything organized. We are scheduled to deliver the flowers Monday around 1pm. To keep updated check out Ark Remodeling & Construction's site: Extreme Makeover Home Edition: Gainesville.

Larry meets Aaron Hernandez

Larry, our flower guy sent me this over the weekend. He was able to go to the Florida/Florida State game on Saturday. Thought I'd share....
Well it was a day for the ages. I was lucky to get a ticket, we had the best tailgate ever and got to go see Tebow and the rest of the seniors play there final game at home. 30 minutes after the game was over, the stands were still full, nobody, including the players wanted it to end. We finally left and went back to our tailgate spot for a snack before hitting the road. Two guys who were parked next to us came over and joined us the said they were going to meet up with Aaron Hernandez and go to dinner. Aaron scored two touchdowns during the game and is one of their star players. We said ya right. We were packing up to leave and they came over and said Aaron was on his way. Sure enough a few minutes later he showed up. They hung a round for a while let us take a bunch of pictures and made our day complete. Go Gators.
Larry

By the way, Larry is the second from the right, with sunglasses on his cap. For those of you who don't know Aaron Hernandez is 4th from the right. GO GATORS!!!

Joanna & Tim, part 2

Since Joanna had gone to school at The University of Florida, she had decided to get get married in Gainesville. Joanna & her mom made a quick trip to Gainesville a few months ago to start the planning, but most of the details were finalized over the Internet. She had ideas, but left most of the details up to the vendors she had selected. Here is her reaction when she first arrived at the reception hall. (She almost cried.)
A few of her fun details.....
Cute Orange shoes.A blue finger nail, yes GATOR pride, but more importantly to cover a black thumb nail. She had slammed the car door on her finger while visiting K-Gallery (now Verve). For a guest book she left out scrapbook materials for everyone to get creative.
For favors she made Mama's Chocolate sauce. YUMMY...Abbey has enjoyed it by dipping in a Jello Pudding Pop. Joanna said she felt like she had made so many new friends in Gainesville and wished she still lived here. She even stopped by on Monday to once again say thanks, and to buy some super cool "Just Married" magnets she had seen at the shoppe.

Joanna & Tim

We had a super fun wedding this past weekend. The bride & groom came down from Massachusetts for their ceremony at The Baughman Center & reception at Sweetwater Branch Inn. After my only meeting with Joanna and her mom, I knew we were going to have some fun. One of the first things they told me, is that they wanted to use beer for the centerpieces. A fun bonus of putting the bottles inside vases full of water, was the magnification of the labels. Shades of orange & brown were colors of the day. To add orange to the reception we (I mean Terry) hung orange lanterns both inside & outside at Sweetwater.
I caught Jenny Wagner from Cakes by Jenny setting up the cake.
The stars on the cake & the paper lantern stars are appropriate, as the bride is an astronomer. More to come tomorrow.

Abbey's Halloween

We turned a one day holiday, into a 2 week event. A visit to a corn maze, 2 Halloween carnivals, visit to pumpkin patch(es), a pumpkin carving party and trick-or-treating. Here are some of the highlights of Abbey's Halloween activities. Abbey and "her girls" at one of the pumpkin patches.
Carving Pumpkins at Shelby's house. This year she picked Minnie Mouse, and I picked daddy to help her, since I carved it last year. She actually cleaned out most of the pumpkin herself. She wanted us to keep the seeds to grown a pumpkin. Needless to say they were roasted, and we will buy some seeds to plant.
Then for Halloween, she decided to be Strawberry Shortcake for the second year in a row. (Thanks to daddy grandma for making the costume last year.)

It was fun, but I am glad it is over.
