Extreme Makeover Home Edition - VIP Viewing Party

Extreme Makeover Home Edition: Gainesville aired Sunday, February 21 on ABC. We were invited by Amy at Adore Events to help with the VIP Viewing Party at the Gainesville Women's Club. Unforgettable Events was in charge of the decor, with a little help from some of our pieces.
Tobin Wagstaff brought a guitar to be signed by people who helped with the build. Behind the guitar is a 30 year old drum he had refurbished with pictures from the build. What a great display piece.
Here I am with Tobin after the party (minus the Mohawk).
A nice way to say thank you to some of the contibutors. A good time was had by all.

Laura & LaMonte

Laura & LaMonte were wed February 6th. Burnt Orange, champange and gold were the colors of the day. Here is one of the Bridesmaids bouquets, made of mini calla lily, freesia, hypericum, and roses.
This incredible space created by Savannah Grande Lifestyles is where the bride and groom sat during their reception. The ferns were provided by us as rental plants.
The center of the room was a focal point for the cake. Large floral arrangements were used to accent the area.
Here is a close up of the column piece, with Abbey as a model.

The church had a trellis outside. We created an accent to match the bridal colors.

Ash Wednesday....what not to do!!!

So, when I was in college, and working at The Plant Shoppe. A lady had been out in the garden center looking at plants. She then came into the florist. I mentioned to her that she had a little "dirt" on her forehead, yes I am also type to tell you that you have something in your teeth. Well instead of her being embarrassed about a little "dirt" on her head, I was the one embarrassed, because it was Ash Wednesday. So, if you see anyone with a little "dirt" on their forehead today...........

Tim came in looking for something special to send to Amber for Valentine's day. After asking a few questions, we were able to come up with this cute arrangement and Thornbrook Chocolates. Amber loves ladybugs (lovebugs).

Teleflora Superbowl Commercial

We are a Teleflora Florist. Thought this commercial was too good to pass up, so we thought we'd share.

Teleflora Superbowl Commercial

One of our flower suppliers did a mini experiment last year and ordered some "boxed" flowers to compare them to ones they provide. This is what they had to say......
I thought you might be interested in hearing about a dozen roses we ordered. The order was for one dozen roses and Godiva chocolates and cost $49.99. It as delivered by UPS at about 3:30 on Valentines Day, as promised. The roses were packed well, but only 30 cm. in length, which is 12 inches. They barley came over the top of the vase. There was a little botrytis (Yucky disease) on the petals which spread to other roses after two days. The chocolates were in a large package, but the size box of candy was very disappointing. Overall, we felt that a customer could get a much better deal from a local florist than from the online source.

Violet: February Flower of the Month

Violets are know more as a plant, but they do produce a 5 petaled velvety blossom. They can be found year round, in pinks, purple, whites, and combos of the colors. They are easy to propagated from the leaves, and do best in a sunny window.
